The textile, apparel, design and fashion sector is facing new horizons in the world. The functionality of raw materials and textiles emerges as a line of growth and becomes the differentiating factor.

And the functionality, understood as that in which its elaboration has been done keeping in mind the real needs of consumers beyond the basic, considering the final use for the product, always looking for the well being of the user and without leaving aside esthetics, has become the macrotrend that today sets the standard for the developments in the sector.

This is why Colombiatex of the Americas 2010, that will take place between the 26th and 28th of January, sees this new decade with a magnifying glass to see beyond the conventional textiles and seeks to get closer to the functional, being this the thematic and academic focus point in its next Edition.
